Date: July 15, 2020
In view of the inflating number of COVID-19 positive cases in the neighboring state where we import most of our essential commodities from, and as a precautionary measure to curtail possible community spread of the pandemic in this part of our state owing to the above stated reason, entry of vehicles transporting essential commodities and all other goods to the districts of Mokokchung, Tuensang, Zunheboto and Longleng shall be temporarily restricted with effect from July 16, 2020. This provisional restriction will be lifted at the earliest possible time and the general public are requested not to panic as there is enough stock of essential commodities in all the four districts.
This public information is being issued after due consultations and formal communication between the Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), Tuensang Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TCCI), Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ZCCI) and Longleng Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI). Further, the Government of Nagaland and the District Task Force on COVID-19 of the respective districts are informed that this provisional restriction is being applied in larger public interest and, therefore, should not be construed as a contravention of laid down SOPs.
