International women’s day was celebrated on 8th March 2021 at Salangtem Community Hall organized by NYKS (Nehru yuva kendra sangathan) in collaboration with The Green Team Mokokchung. Mrs. Bendangsenla (MDLSA) was the resource person for the program where she encouraged the audience  with knowledge based on women’s Day theme “Choose to challenge” she emphasized on Article 39A of Indian Constitution which gives equal opportunity for both men and women. She also highlighted the difficulties the women section have suffered in gaining justice, but with deliberate efforts working under different organization under different theme have achieved justice and equality since 1911. She encouraged all the women to soar up like eagles by learning and relearning the laws of the world. Lastly she challenged the women to start the movement of change and accept the challenges faced to attain justice and rights and to be able to voice out and say ‘I can do it’. Above all she concludes how to fight for the rights by changing the way we think, change one’s own behavior and increase self awareness as women can become strong, powerful and beautiful.
