



One Day basic training on Skill development under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) support activity was organized by Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) Mokokchung Division on 20th Oct 2021 at Sangtemla ward Community hall, Mokokchung town.
Resource person, Er Imtiyanger T Imchen, SDO PHED Mokokchung highlighted on the objectives of Jal Jeevan Mission(JJM), which is to ensure clean and safe drinking water (of adequate quality and quantity) to every household by 2024 as well as to bring water supply to their doorsteps.
He said that the department will ensure the implementation of the project at the villages, as well as providing technical assistance and supervision of other works related to the project. He also said that the WATSAN (Water and Sanitation) Committee along with the villagers (beneficiaries) has a very vital role to play as far as the long term operation and maintenance of the project.
The main aim of the training was to impart basic skill development to ensure sustainability of the water supply infrastructure and to enhance the skill of the village functionaries for operation and maintenance of assets. Basic development training on electrification, plumbing and masonry, welding system and pumping system was imparted to the trainees.
The master trainers’ were- Pokti (Electrification), I Wati Jamir (Plumbing & Masonry), Yarenba (Welding system) and Jongpongwati (Pumping machine system). Altogether 80 trainees from 38 villages from Chuchuyimlang, Changtongya, Kubolong , Ongpangkong North & South blocks attended the training.
