Mokokchung Times, Nagaland’s first Hyperlocal English Daily, was launched on 20th of January, 2022 at Ongpangkong Salang, Arkong ward, Mokokchung with a dedicatory prayer by Rev. Ponen Longchar, Pastor, Mokokchung Town Baptist Church.
At the launch ceremony of Mokokchung Times, Sashimeren Jamir, Secretary, Mokokchung Press Club, gave a goodwill message where he congratulated the editor and his team for creating history by publishing the first hyperlocal English daily. He said that the paper will be a boon for Nagas in general and for Mokokchung District in general.

He encouraged the team to work towards changing the mindset of the people through the paper and also added that it is a people’s paper and that it needs the support of the people to thrive further.
Limalenden Longkumer, Editor, Mokokchung Times, while giving an overview and introduction of the paper said that there has always been the need for an English daily in Mokokchung Town and said that there are bigger visions to make Mokokchung Times the voice of the people of Mokokchung and to stand for truth.
