Dimapur beat Mon to lift the title
Dimapur District Football Association defeated Mon District Football Association 2-0 to lift the 22nd edition of the Inter- District Football Championship Dr. T. Ao Trophy 2022 here at Imkongmeren Sports complex, Mokokchung on Friday. A goal from Kivi Zhimomi and Kakhevi in the second half was enough to secure a victory.
Kivi Zhimomi scored in the 59th minute, while Kakhevi finished the game in 84th minute for Dimapur team. This is the third time the Dimapur are lifting the title.
Heartbreak for Mon team as they failed to live up to the expectations in the final match. Supporters from Mon district came in number to support their team in the final. However it was Dimapur team that took control of the game and Mon never settled down in the final as they crushed out from the competition.
