The District Planning & Development Board Meeting for the month of May 2022 was held on 20th May, 2022 at the ADC (Planning) Conference Hall, under the Chairmanship of Imkong L Imchen, MLA.

The meeting was also attended by Sharingain Speaker NLA, Metsübo Jamir Minister, Tongpang Ozukum Minister & Outgoing DPDB Chairman Mokokchung and Imnatiba Advisor & MLA. All of them delivered short speeches congratulating the outgoing Chairman on his sincere imitative and contributions leading the District forward his short tenure and also welcoming the new Chairman who they described as the most senior most legislature in the District.

After thorough deliberation and discussion on the business hours the following decision are as follows:-

a. Approval of translated document of the village Councils Act Nagaland 1978. The member of the due deliberation decided to set up a special committee for further study on the translated (into Local dialect) documents.

b. On the day’s agenda review of the last meeting minutes “Livelihoods Project” under common pool 2021-2022 was discussed and approved the project. Distribution and selection of the beneficiaries of the project shall be done by the Chairman and Vice Chairman.

c. Construction and development of the Public Park at Mokokchung town was discussed. The house was informed on the possibility of land earmarked for the project basing on which the house decided to send proposal to government for fund allocation for the development of the said Park.

d. The house also discussed and approved for the construction of approach road widening and black topping from Senior Treasury Office junction to DC’s Office Complex.

e. On the updates on construction of Mini Secretariat/District Office Complex in Mokokchung the house discussed and unanimously agreed to alter the project into multi-departmental office complex Mokokchung. The house also considered and approved the project to proceed.

f. The house also after thorough deliberation approved the registration of the society of Town Higher secondary School Mokokchung.

g. The house also discussed and enquired from the parent department BSNL on the poor network service of BSNL telecom service in the District. After thorough discussion and respond taken from the department, the house expects the BSNL department to provide stable good service to the people in the District.

h. As a part of the World Environment Day Celebration 2022 a declaration of plantation drive was conducted by Dr. Sentitula DFO Mokokchung where she informed the house the actual celebration day falls on the 1st June 2022 and the department is prepared to distribute 50,000 saplings to 88 villages in the District for its plantation. In the meantime the house made a pledge for the World Environment Day.
