Mokokchung, 7th Oct: Distribution of assistive Aids to Differently Abled Persons, a CSR initiative of District Administration, Mokokchung & Ocwen Financial Corporation, Bangalore was held today at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung with Hon’ble Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Sharingain Longkumer as Special Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharingain said everyone is suffering with a form of disability but we see only those who are physically disabled. He said unlike other advance countries, disability is a subject matter which is new to us and is least discussed, but it is time we should realize that it is not a subject to be discussed but a matter to be addressed.
He said the Assistive Aids are given so as to let the Special Persons express and demonstrate their abilities and show what they are capable of. The NLA Speaker expressed his appreciation to DC, Mokokchung and his team for all the initiatives taken and thanked the Ocwen Financial Corporation, Banglore for their noble deeds.
Total number of assistive aids – 50 wheel chairs, 30 hearing aid, 50 walking stick elbow and 50 underarm crutches were distributed today.
DC, Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap singh, IAS, delivered the Keynote address, short speech was delivered by the representing member of the Ocwen Financial Corporation, special number was presented by Imwapangla Ozüküm while vote of thanks was proposed by the Chairperson, Sentilong Ozükum, SDO (C), Mokokchung.
