Welcoming all the legislators and members of the DPDB, the Chairman also mentioned his thankfulness to the district administration, police, heads of offices, and civil societies for their collective effort in successfully conducting and maintaining a peaceful environment during the recently concluded general election.

The scarcity of water in Mokokchung Town, which has been one of the major problems being faced for many years, was discussed in the meeting. Understanding that the problem cannot be solved only by the concern department, it was decided that different steps should be taken to curb the problem, such as raising awareness and sensitising the people on water management and holding meetings of all the line departments to discuss the issue and initiate activities on rejuvenation of spring water, etc., for which the DPDB Chairman requested the Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, DPDB Mokokchung, to convene a meeting of all the line departments.

The House discussed the non-assignment of an urban development officer in the district, which hampers the carrying out of many development activities in the district. The meeting decided to approach the concerned department for the appointment or deployment of an urban development officer to Mokokchung at the earliest.

The Board recommended the registration of a new society of Green Hills Research and Development, Ungma village, and grant-in-aid for the following private schools: Mission School Changki, Straightway Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung, and Town Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung. A proposal for the construction of a tourist amenity centre at Yimchalu Village, Mokokchung, under PMJVY was also approved in the meeting.

A Power Point presentation on Elder Line, Nagaland, was given by the Programme Manager, and a detailed report on the Livelihood Project, initiated under Common Pool during LADP 2021–2022, was given by the committee. Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan, Mokokchung, was also launched during the meeting.
